I never had a quick comeback to these people...
Rando in the crowd: "I bot 30 vol, but I'm hedging it like it's 20 vol."
Me: "Do you mean you are putting 20 vol into your model to get a delta, and you are hedging based on that vol?"
Rando: "Yeah, especially for the upside calls, because if we 'go there' vols will be lower."
Me: "Please propose some trades to me based on these ideas you have expressed to me."
Rando: "Um. No."
Me: (giving the side eye): "Okay, Rando."
